2000 Mitsubishi Lancer GSR

The Story

Well there is a very long boring story behind this car. If you have the time feel free to read ahead. My dad has his mates all had a car garage that dealt with highly modified cars in the early 2000s, in 2010 they sold the garage and all took cars that didn’t sell. My dad took this GSR lancer and a 2001 wrx sti. Since day one I was always crazy about this car but I was very young and the car needed a lot of work. I moved to Australia when I was 18 for two years. Moved back to Ireland and immediately the two of us got started on the car in 2018. The cars has been through a lot of variations and has broken down more times than I care to count. Mechanically this car was in pieces and because of what it is, it is not possible to get parts for it anywhere. It took me a year just to source a clutch slave cylinder.. I have been driving the car for a couple years now and have no intentions of ever selling it because of the sentimental value it holds. The car is a CK4A Mivec fwd chassis and the engine is a 245bhp 1.8t 4g93T GSR out of a 4wd GSR lancer. It has been painted multiple times but is currently nardo grey. The tires are changing every week because I do a lot of track days, currently on toyo proxes. The wheels are cheap Chinese unknown brand that were on the car since day one. I have just ordered a set of BC Racing coilovers off a 1.3 1998 lancer because you cant get coilovers for these anywhere near Ireland. I have to change the front sway bar over from a 1.3 so the drop links can hook to the control arms. It has a hks turbo timer, hks back box and a Apexi cold air intake. All upgraded intercooler and piping. Recently removed the engine and painted the bay black. It has a factory sunroof and factory black leather interior which only 45 of these cars where made with factory sunroof and leather interior. The car has been under sealed but there is still a lot of work to be done. The wiring harness has been butchered since day one because they had to splice in the Gsr harness with the mivec harness. Which is causing electrical faults almost weekly..Full tinted windows. Full hardrace bushings and rear control arms. Its still stock turbo, injectors and ecu but I ordered a plastic case ecu from Malaysia to get it mapped hopefully to 285. It has Evo 4 side skirts, Evo 6 fibre glass bonnet. I have uploaded photos from 2018 when the car was silver and some photos in between and some photos of the car now. The car sat on bricks in my garden for 8 years not been touched.
