Josie’s New Volk TE37’s | FK8 Civic Type R Build

About Josie & Her Build

Josie is someone you’ll see at nearly every Slammedenuff car show; running around making sure everyone is enjoying the day while occasionally snapping pics on attendees wings (willingly.) But outside of the chaotic weekends, Josie spends her time not only keeping people out of jail (CPA stuff) but building her very first modified car; a FK8 Honda Civic Type R.

FK8 Honda Civic Type R

The FK8 Honda Civic Type R is a high-performance version of the popular Honda Civic. With its aggressive styling and turbocharged engine, this hot hatchback has garnered a strong following among car enthusiasts. You should know this already. It’s the last aggressive version before Honda neutered it’s looks with the new generation. Josie’s boost blue pearl Type R is completely stock, but not for long. Enter us, the people you love to hate because we pressure you into building your car because life’s too boring.

Her New Wheels

Josie reached out to MartiniWorks and asked if we could help source her a set of wheels. She wanted something iconic, well-built, and was comfortable with paying a bit more if that meant she’d be proud of what shoes would ultimately go on the car.

The answer? A set of Volk TE37’s in diamond silver.

About Volk TE37 | FK8 Type R Fitment

The Volk TE37 wheels known for their lightweight construction and high-performance capabilities. They’re forged, have a mountain of stress that they can take, and host a design that is by in-large, the #1 most copied design ever. Because Volk is well..Volk, there are also nine million different limited edition TE37’s. To save our headaches, we went with the tried and true TE37SL’s. A superlight variant of the model, the 18×9.5 +38 Volk Racing TE37′s will sit perfectly flush on the platform.

The wheels looks damn near perfect on this platform. The six-spoke design simplifies the car overall look without losing any definition. The Japanese heritage of the wheel also fits right at home on the sport-tuner with the iconic red badge and massive Brembo Brakes.

What About Suspension for Her FK8 Type R?

As with any wheel upgrade, we almost always recommend jumping into suspension at the same time. The result? A set of Swift SPEC-R Sport Springs. The springs help retain OEM suspension functionality but still drop the car about 1.5″ to close up any excess wheel gap.

What’s Next?

We suppose that’s up to her. We’re just stoked to see the build getting started, and we hope you do to.
