There’s no way around it. Our cars need tires. Whether you use those tires for everyday driving, track days, or to stretch over a 12” wide wheel to get some spicy fitment, they are absolutely needed in one way or another. It’s no surprise that getting a good set of tires for your car comes at a cost and there is nothing worse than spending all that hard earned cash on a nice set of tires only for something to happen to them when you’re out enjoying your car. If only there was some sort of warranty or something that could ease those worries. Oh wait, there is! (sorry for the cliche intro)
Our friends at General Tire just introduced their brand new Shield+ Advantage Plan and it’s pretty rad. With this you receive a comprehensive coverage package designed to protect your investment and provide peace of mind. Whether it’s warranty protection, customer satisfaction trials, or road hazard coverage, the Shield+ Advantage Plan has you covered.
The Shield+ Advantage Plan is a complete package of all available warranties and services for General Tire passenger and light truck replacement tires. This plan ensures that you receive top-tier support and coverage in various scenarios to give you some serious peace of mind at a fraction of the cost of normal coverages.
No this isn’t that spam call for extending your car’s warranty. We all get enough of those. This is a warranty you can definitely take advantage of that is built for people who rely on their tires to perform.
All General Tire passenger and light truck tires are covered under a Limited Warranty for up to 72 months from the purchase date. If a tire becomes unserviceable due to a warrantable condition within the first 12 months or first 2/32nds of treadwear, it will be replaced free of charge. Mounting and balancing are included, with the owner covering applicable taxes. Easy as that.
Imagine buying a pair of shoes off the shelf without trying them on first. That’s risky business! So what if that same mentality was brought to tires? There’s absolutely nothing worse than buying tires and something not working out. General tire fixes that fear with a properly good trial period.
General Tire offers a 45-day trial period for its replacement tires. If you’re not completely satisfied with your new tires within 45 days or 2/32nds of treadwear (whichever comes first), you may exchange them for another set of General Tire brand tires of equal or lesser value.
You’re spending a good chunk of change on your tires, it would be good to make sure they last a decent amount of time right?
General Tire offers mileage warranties on select replacement tires for up to 75,000 miles. If a tire wears out before reaching its warranted mileage, a pro-rata replacement is available. The customer will receive a comparable new General Tire at a prorated cost based on the actual mileage received.
I’m going to start writing down the amount of random stuff I have to dodge while driving down the highway. From metal brackets to full on king sized mattresses, I’ve seen it all. Where is it spawning in from?
The Road Hazard Coverage is one of the best features of the Shield+ Advantage Plan in our opinion, offering protection against unexpected damage. Within the first 12 months from the purchase date, if a covered tire becomes unserviceable due to a road hazard, it will be replaced with a comparable new General Tire free of charge.
