The Story
I learned to drive in a manual 2001 Audi A4 that sadly got unrecoverably totaled during a snowstorm in 2020 when someone drove into me in an intersection. Afterward, I bounced between a few different cars for a year and a half, during which I discovered just how much I loved that car and how much I took it for granted. That fall while browsing FB marketplace without any intent to buy anything (as we all do), I saw this 2001 S4.
I instantly knew I had to have it, so I scraped together everything I had and bought it. Since then it's been a journey of opportunistic upgrades as various parts break (as the 2.7T platform tends to do). An interesting tidbit is that my dad is a local tuner in the twin cities area (Jordan Price) and working together with him on this car has allowed me to make so many memories with him as well as learn to appreciate this problematic but undeniably charismatic platform.
Anyone else who owns one of these knows - this is when Audi was truly rowdy! Understeer and all.
