DSM guy here....Finally sold my 1997 GSX in 2011( thanks new house costs) and being interested in the more American muscle builds and with a kid on the way i started looking for a new platform. Not a lot out there with 4 doors and a V8. Charger you say? Nope Nope, i cant make out of the neighborhood without seeing 12. Yes, i know there is plenty of other performance platforms that have horsepower but most are Euro and well no one wants that mechanic bill.
In walks the Holden Commodore. GM sister company, comes with a 6 liter V8 and plenty of backseat room. love at first sight. This little gem is the Pontiac G8GT, Pontiacs last attempt to be relevant by slapping some stickers on a car and calling it a Pontiac.
TLDR, I have had two of these cars. First build i started got smashed by a UPS truck so i started over. The black one you see now has a 6.2 LS3 swap, full custom rebuild by Rick Crawford Customs. Basically everything that can be done to a N/A vehicle has been done. Its running 11.2 at the track full load(including babyseats).
And yes it listed under GMC on MartiniWorks since they don\'t have either Pontiac or Holden as a vehicle brand....haters
