I think when we were all young, having the opportunity to take what you drive and turn it into something further represents who you are is something we all wanted to do. This is my project, a 2015 Honda Civic Si. This is the first car I was able to purchase on my own in 2021, as my father gifted me a 2010 Honda Civic LX back in 2015, coincidentally, to help me commute to the university and back home (I do web development now). I've always enjoyed the civic platform as I found it to be attainable to anyone. The counter argument is that you see them everywhere, so what I wanted to do with my car is set myself apart and show others that you can take a common car and mold it into a vessel that inspires people to find a new appreciation for their own cars. The end goal for my car is to take Honda's design language from 2015 and turn it into something that is OEM+ spec, and keeps people wondering whether or not the car is REALLY 10 years old already. My car has taught me a lot of things so far. It's the first car I have been able to experiment with wheel fitment, vinyl wrapping, and more. I even grabbed a polisher machine last year so I can learn about paint correction (I'm a sucker for good paint). There's still a few more things that I would like to do to the exterior of the car before I start meddling with engine components, but I am happy with the progress I have been able to make throughout the time I have had with my car. It's been a great learning experience. One thing's for sure, once you get into your car and the possibilities you have for it, learning will never be off the table.
