I first bought the car in NYC back in 2019 with only 11,000 miles (practically brand new to me) and absolutely no rust, but minor scratches thanks for NYC parking. I had a 2014 prior, but it had 45,000 miles and didn't feel nearly as compliant. Ended moving down to Charlotte, NC and although I liked how it drove, I wasn't in love with it. I knew I needed to change that and while most would like to start with adding power, what I really wanted was better handling
I ended up first changing the brakes and brake lines, because the harsh NYC stop and go traffic warped the rotors. Installed StopTech slotted rotors and pads, and Z1 braided stainless steel brake lines. Messed with the tires and wheels for a bit before going on lowering springs and installing a stillen rear sway bar Tanabe front strut brace, and SPL rear end links.
I didn't like the setup with the wheels I had purchased and decided to pick up a set of Avid 1 AV06 wheels that really looked great, and had an aggressive offset. Had a custom catback made by the guys here at Soho Motorsports (experts on all things Nissan/Infiniti) that sounds amazing. Lowering springs were giving a harsh ride and the rear sway bar wasn't good enough anymore, so I ended up upgrading to BC Racing DS series coilovers and Hotchkiss front and rear sway bars. Next I went with Z1's LSD because to be honest, these cars whether AWD or not definitely benefit from it recently upgraded to the Akebono BBK with a customer color and R1 Concept drilled/slotted rotors and pads. She stops on a dime now ?
She's still a work in progress, and right now, I need to get some QOL things for the car (paint correction because as Alex mentioned on how to modify a G35, the paint is crap on all these Infiniti's, and also have a busted control arm) but after that, I'm changing suspension once again with Fortune Auto 500 coilovers with Swift Springs, and finally focus on making some real power on this 3.7
