2016 Ford Focus ST Show Car

The Story

My 2016 Ford Focus ST started as a daily driver that I intended to use as a fun commuter car. I initially threw a drop in air filter and a cat back exhaust and immediately fell in love with the noises. I soon ended up doing all of the bolt on modifications as I loved all the noises and the feeling of going faster and faster. I soon realized that the motor was topped out at the bolt ons and would have to start upgrading the turbo to go faster. At this same point in time, I attended my first show with a friend from work who introduced me to the show car scene where I immediately fell in love. My first show I attended was the 2019 Appleton Takeover show put on by the WCEC group in Appleton Wisconsin. I saw some amazing cars and some really cool builds on the same platform as me. I distinctly remember seeing 2 cars that made me want to build my car for show now rather than speed. A black focus with retrofit headlights and a custom interior, and a yellow focus that had a wood grain engine bay cover and a custom trunk setup. These two cars opened my eyes for the possibility of what can be done to my car. I eventually went the route of air suspension and the rest just unfolded. One month was an aero kit, another the roofbox and wrap, and the next wheels, and lights. The mod bug just didn't stop until I reached a point where there was nothing left to touch on the car except DIY mods where I really had to become creative.
