Gundam Shenron (Street/Track)

The Story

During my early to late 20s, I fell out of love for the car scene due to other things in my life that took priority. However, seeing the Twinbarus in 2018 brought me right back into the car community, partially the Hakone edition pulled me. More on that later. I held off purchasing one as the used market wasn't good in my area and rumors of the 2nd gen circulated, so I figured I would be rewarded with patience. Either I get the second gen or everyone will ditch the first and I could get it as a steal. That was before the pandemic. I waited out for a few years until I couldn't and hunted for the best deal I could find given the circumstances of hiked prices, awful interest rate, and potential RTV issue. My priority was Toyota GR86 for the brand's reliability, it needed to be the premium trim, the color came third, and the transmission came last. After haggling with 6 dealerships, I finally found one that was bearable, but the interest rate was still terrible that I had to pay upfront. This meant my standard of living was going to be excruciating for a few months and little to no mods. I got lucky with a few aero pieces, yet I had to wait and now the wait is over. Modding it to the best of my ability, especially when more aftermarket parts are flooding our ecosystem. My overall plan is to make Gundam Shenron a bit widebody balancing track, time attack, daily driving, and show aesthetics. Once I get the widebody I am seeking, I will wrap it in green and have gold, bronze, or tan rims. That Hakone edition made me really want it lol. I want it to look like a cross between Gundam and Dragon Ball without having to add the anime decal/wrap to it. As this is my daily and plan on keeping it forever, reliability mods are my focus before the widebody, suspension, and wheels. I am breaking the build down in levels so I can see my progress and not let social media influence me that I need it to reach a certain level in the quickest way. It leads to shortcuts, long term issues, and recurring problems. Hope yall can follow me on my journey!
