My father bought this as a project car for us when I was 14 back in 2008! He decided to do this really because I urged him, which was fueled by Need for Speed Underground 2 (and later NFS Carbon). He had the foresight to know it would be a great bonding experience for us. That was what began the purchase and modification. However, like many car stories, things didn't go as planned. We modified it together somewhat, having a body kit installed and the car painted. I loved this car throughout highschool and into my early 20's, driving it constantly. Eventually though it sat, and I couldn't afford to do everything I wanted myself. It weathered hail, tornados, and a rather persistent squirrel (who chewed up much of the wiring) before I felt I could tackle it as a project again. I'm a DIY'er at heart, so I decided I would repair it, wide body it, and paint it, just as we always planned...or close enough. Here is where builds can get challenging. You only know what you know, and obviously don't know what you don't know, which happens to be a lot when you are doing your first build. I went through idea after idea, finally settling on a wide body fender kit. However it is difficult piecing parts together that were never designed together, which is where I struggled. I went through multiple body ideas, including fiberglassing my own bumper, before I finally landed on doing the obvious: keeping the stock bumpers. I did opt to use a GV style bumper lip and side skirts. All this is just to say that sometimes less is more, and often it is easier to make decisions if you can see the end result ahead of time. In other words, feel free to take inspiration from other builds, because some people are just better at envisioning an end result. I'm still modifying this car slowly, but I'm happy with where it is for now. Just keep pursuing that dream build and eventually you'll get there!
Also, the front wheels have a +25 offset and the rear are +0. I couldn't put that in the section for my wheels but wanted to note it somewhere.
