What types of tires does Kenda make?

Kenda covers a wide spread. Passenger car tires in all-season, summer, and performance compounds. Light truck and SUV tires including all-terrain and mud-terrain options. They also make trailer tires, ATV/UTV tires, and bicycle tires (they're actually huge in the cycling world). For car modifiers, the passenger and light truck lines are where you'll spend most of your time.

What sizes do Kenda tires come in?

Kenda covers a broad range from 15-inch through 22-inch diameters across their passenger and light truck lines. Width and aspect ratio availability depends on the specific model. Their trailer and specialty tires go smaller. If you're running a common fitment on a daily or project car, Kenda probably has something in your size. Oddball specs get thinner, like any budget brand.

Does Kenda make performance tires?

They do. The Vezda UHP line is their performance offering for passenger cars. It's a summer-biased tire with a directional tread pattern aimed at street performance. Will it hang with a Pilot Sport 4S at a track day? No. But for spirited street driving on a budget build, the Vezda UHP is a reasonable option. You get decent dry grip and responsive turn-in without paying flagship prices.

Kenda Tires

Kenda is the budget tire brand that grassroots drifters keep buying. The KR20A (Kaiser) is the one you'll see stacked in trailers at Formula Drift Pro-Am events and local drift days. It's a 200 treadwear semi-slick that costs roughly half what a Federal RS-RR or Nankang CR-S runs in the same size. That price gap matters when you're going through two or four tires per event. We carry Kenda because they fill a real gap: cheap, predictable tires that you won't feel bad destroying. Free shipping on every order from MartiniWorks.

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenda Tires

Kenda is headquartered in Yuanlin, Taiwan, where the company was founded in 1962. They also operate manufacturing plants in China, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Tianjin. For the North American market, Kenda runs operations out of Columbus, Ohio, which handles distribution and support for the U.S. and Canada. So you're buying from a Taiwanese manufacturer with a real North American presence, not a faceless import brand.

For budget-conscious daily driving, Kenda is a solid pick. Their Klever and Vezda lines handle commuter duty without drama. Treadwear ratings are competitive with other tires in the same price bracket, and ride comfort is reasonable. They won't match a Continental or Michelin in wet braking or tread life, but that's the trade-off at this price point. If you're running a daily that doesn't need top-shelf rubber, Kenda gets the job done without emptying your wallet.

Kenda sits in the value tier alongside brands like Falken's budget lines, Nexen, and Hankook's entry-level stuff. Where Kenda stands out is variety. They cover more vehicle categories than most competitors at this price point. Build quality is consistent, and their warranty support through the Ohio office is better than what you'll get from some no-name imports. They won't outperform a mid-tier brand like General or Cooper, but dollar-for-dollar they hold their own.
