The Story
This started after a near death experience and then soon after that losing one of my best friends and the first person to call me after my near death accident.
May 2020 during the height of Covid 19 I was in tractor versus car accident in another Ford Edge where I struck the tractor and it's implement at highway speed, roughly 60 mph. I was able to dodge death by mere inches, but I have a large scar on my fave to remind me daily. My friend, who wrapped the car for me, was the first person to call me the next morning when he was sent pictures of the car from the scene of the accident. Six months later he was killed in a rollover UTV accident. After this, the project spiraled. I used it as a coping mechanism, but also knowing that he would have been routing me on every step of the way.
This started as what was suppose to be a daily driver and then it became my show car. It's not a cookie cutter build. It's been a challenge every step of the way. From figuring out how to correctly get it on air since, ya know everyone bags a Ford Edge. To creating the custom 1 of 1 hood. To acquiring the flare kit and front splitter all the way from Ukraine, during Covid. Not to mention that the flares and splitter were suppose to go on the previous Edge that was in the accident the Monday after the accident. To the carbon fiber skinned interior parts that were hand done by myself. Many custom parts on this car that don't exist in the aftermarket because well, the aftermarket for a Ford Edge just isn't that big.
I knew customizing a Ford Edge wouldn't be easy, but this snowballed into a MAJOR challenge that honestly I never anticipated it to get to, but I don't regret a bit of it.
