The Story
Bought Used from outta' state and had it shipped to me because price was too low to ignore.
Car shares the motor with the stinger gt2 and top trim g70s- the former of which has a pretty potent boy racer community. Everything to prove with their "just a KIA". it's insufferable.
... but it does let me piggy back off their aftermarket. Started with an intake which made zero difference in power but holy hell the turbo sounds immaculate- breathing in or out. Maybe the car is just quiet enough but the recirculation is so loud it sounds like it vents to atmosphere.
That was all it took- Hooked up the JB4: a little piggyback tuner and alongside 93 octane- unlocked another 100 whp and 100 ft-lbs. Literally just let the turbos push 17PSI as opposed to 11 and gave me a 27% ish power boost.
I've been so happy with the power that all I've done since is wheels, springs, sway bars/links and a buncha' extra chassis stiffening (car is absurdly heavy- curb with AWD 4650 lbs wtf)
Unfortunately: Its expensive to repair. Genesis is very proud of most of their drivetrain and suspension, OEM steering knuckle costs 2600 USD for example.
You'd figure it being fancy hyundai it's be otherwise but nah.
Later this year if I survive WW3 or Civil War 2, gonna take it to the next step and put, Charge pipe Injections, catless downpipes, new exhaust with a backend flash tune/TCU tune from KJT
... or trade it in for a GR corolla (incredible car)
I love the car but I learned that I love modifying more than Maintenance and I wish I bought something vastly more popular... and lighter - JFC its a 5000 lbs car with me in it bro wtf
