I have always had a thing for the Grand Am's N body platform. It was my first car, what got me into the car scene, how I met so many of my good friends, and how I learned so much about cars. This was my 7th Grand Am and my last(well for now). This one started as a conversation with my dad while he was driving me to the airport. I'm browsing FB Marketplace and I see this clean one owner 30th ANV Grand Am GT for sale in Milwaukee and I tell my dad see this is exactly what I'm looking for. Without skipping a beat my dad goes you should buy it. I'm like ya I would love to, and then he repeats himself again. You should buy it. I'm like pops I can't. I don't have the money for it right now. And he goes, well I do. We do this whole back and forth thing where he wants to buy me the car and I hate owing people money so I am trying to say no but in the end how could I really. We picked it up when I got back from my vacation a week later from the original owner. It came with a lot of parting tears and a mound of all the repairs and original paperwork including the window sticker. Originally I drove it as it was, but that didn't last long as I started to collect little parts here and there and transfer some parts I had on some of my old Grand Ams onto this one. When it came to the wheels I knew what I wanted but everyone told me they wouldn't fit. I did some measurements and figured they might not, but if they didn't I was going to make them fit. With the help of an angle grinder, rubber mallet, big hammer and 20 washers from the local hardware store I present to you what you see before you today. In the end me and my dad got to run the car in the River Valley Road Rally and place 14th out of 75 teams, the best we had done to date, as well as enter it in my first real car show. I did less to this car than I did with this car. So many miles and memories attached to list here. If you have made it this far and you are building a car right now I encourage you to go out and experience the car scene with your car. Do events, hang out with friends, use your car. Cause if I can make lasting memories that will stick with me forever in a Grand Am, so can you in your car!
