2023 Subaru BRZ

The story

This is my BRZ after I completely overhauled everything. When I first got this car I wanted to kind of go "balls-to-the-wall" in modding it. Throwing as much JDM parts as possible, but I lost sight of what my intentions were for the car: A refined OEM+ build. Key word: refinement. I went into it just thinking "I can change this, and can buy this" without really putting much thought in what I was replacing or modding. Was the part enhancing my experience? Was it all for show? What was I getting out of this modification that I didn't already get from the OE part? I wanted to refine the car, not completely change it. That's when the vision changed. Now this is where I consider the peak of the BRZ is for me. Toned WAY down from what I had on it originally. I got rid of the Kspec diffuser, and I plan on selling the Sayber side skirts as well. I've decided to get the full Kit from Voltex/Greddy (eventually). I also got rid of my Recaro SR7. I loved how they felt, but if I'm being honest, it wasn't really giving me anymore than what my OEM seat gave me. Though I can revisit getting seats in the future. I got rid of my Greddy Evo exhaust. One word for that: DRONE. Replaced with a REFINED Fujisubo AR Exhaust. Drone where? I replaced my BLITZ coilovers with ST XTA suspension. The Blitz were so harsh on the street. No matter what setting you put em in. The ST fixed all of that. Performance WITH comfortability. Also got rid of the Blitz intake. So apparently the Hemholtz resonator had something to do with throttle response. The Blitz removes the resonator completely. (it's the weird shaped box thing under the charge pipe). I comtemplated going back to stock. But ended up getting the whole HKS intake kit. (oops). We'll see if I end up going back to stock LOL. The nice thing about this intake, aside from looking nice and being HKS- it retains the Hemholtz resonator! So I get the response, and it sounds nice. Finally, I got rid of the ZR-10s. Sorry Alex I know you loved those wheels. I did too. It really set the tone for the car. But that was just it. The main issue of the whole overhaul. The ZR-10s were flashy. I wanted to tone it down. That's why I got the forged BBS STI(2015-2018) Limited wheels. Which I got at a VERY good price (1200 CAD for the set). I believe they are going for $6000 CAD now for a pristine set like mine. That's an investment! I plan to keep these though. TLDR: Lots of changes. Lots of refinement. I even had to make a whole new build thread. The build is just... different now. I guess this is what you call maturing? I'm happy with where the car is now. Just refined. No loud mods that will get street cred at the car shows. No one breaking their necks going down the street. But you know what? I enjoy the car more. Isn't that weird? Maturity.
