1990 Toyot Camry Haiso Style Kaido Racer Build

1990 Camry that went from first car, to light modified daily, to fully modified weekend/ show car. Got into cars back in high school when my friends would always talk about the Tj Hunt and Adam LZ drama and all that. Slowly got introduced to the world of cars through them and delved further as I got my own car, joined car clubs in University and went out to more meets and shows. First got exposed to kaido racers back in 2018/2019 both by a few local guys who had been into them reaching out and also seeing MoonlightRunners at Toyotafest. Over the years I slowly transitioned away from a more drift inspired bn style build into a more traditional kaido racer build with the help of many kaido racer OGs. From the getgo kaido racers appealed to me back when I incorrectly knew them as bosozoku cars, and meeting some local builders and also builders from Japan really helped my journey on building my car. Being based on an odd/ nonstandard base car for a kaido racer, there were many challenges. One I had constantly struggled with was part availability, there was basically zero aftermarket for my car so everything had to be made from the ground up, and any parts that couldn't be made, had to be painstakingly sourced from across the globe. Over time my car continued to evolve into what it is today, where I consider it about 70-75% of the way to what I think my end goal is. I hope to continue being able to fine tune my car both aesthetically and mechanically to where I want it to be, whilst respecting and adhering to the roots of kaido racers.
