Track-Tested, Wallet-Approved: The Ironman iMove Gen 3

July 18, 2025

If you’re just getting into drifting, building on a budget, or need something affordable to pair with your wheel setup, the Ironman iMove Gen 3 should absolutely be on your radar. It’s become one of the most popular budget drift tires in the grassroots scene and after unboxing a set ourselves and giving them a proper look (watch the Unboxed video here), it’s easy to see why.

The Value Drift Tire That’s Actually Worth Using

Let’s be honest, one of the biggest selling points of the iMove Gen 3 is the price. You can grab a full set for half (or less) of what most name-brand performance tires cost. That alone explains why they’re stacked in trailers and mounted on wheels at grassroots drift events all over the country.

But here’s the thing: this tire isn’t just for the track. We’ve seen plenty of people include it in wheel and tire packages as a reliable, budget-friendly all-season tire for daily driving, too. So whether you’re sideways or just heading to work, they hold up better than they have any right to at this price point.

Why Newer Drifters Love It

The Ironman iMove Gen 3 has earned its place in grassroots drifting for one reason: it handles heat and abuse better than you’d expect at this price point and it stays consistent. That’s more than you can say for a lot of other entry-level tires in this space.

The breakaway is predictable, which makes it an ideal tire for people learning throttle control, or those trying to keep their costs low while still progressing in skill, especially on builds making 350 horsepower or less.. And for what it is? It surprisingly doesn’t chunk up, doesn’t fall apart, and gives you the confidence to stay out longer without chewing through your budget.

Surprisingly Solid Materials

You’d assume a tire at this price point would come with compromises but surprisingly, the Ironman iMove Gen 3 is built using materials you’d expect in more expensive options.

When we took a closer look, we were impressed. The sidewalls are reinforced enough to keep their shape under load, without feeling overly stiff, which helps during transitions and mid-drift stability. The tread compound is well-balanced: not so soft that it melts on hot days, but not so hard that it gets sketchy in the rain.

It also features a solid center rib for straight-line stability, along with a multi-angle tread that actually does a decent job in wet weather which is helpful if you’re daily driving or heading to the drift event.

Is it a high-tech motorsport compound? No. But for its price, the build quality and rubber blend are absolutely better than expected. This isn’t some ultra-cheap tire that’s going to blow out on your second run. It’s built to take some abuse and it shows.

Where They Make Sense (And Where They Don’t)

The Ironman iMove Gen 3 aren’t pretending to be a Michelin PS4S or a Falken RT660 and that’s okay. If you’re pushing serious power, chasing lap times, or dialing in a fully competitive setup, these probably aren’t your tire.

But for budget builds, daily-driven drift cars, or first-time drifters, the iMove Gen 3 punches above its weight. It’s quiet, compliant, and holds up well in most daily driving conditions. Just know, if you’re driving in snow or truly icy conditions, investing in a dedicated winter tire is the smarter move.

Final Thoughts: The Tire That Gets It Done

Whether you’re building your first drift car or just need something to roll on while you save for bigger upgrades, the Ironman iMove Gen 3 is worth a serious look. It’s not perfect, but it’s consistent, affordable, and fun. And at the end of the day, that’s exactly what a lot of builds need.

It’s reliable, affordable, and fun. Whether you’re building your first drift car, putting together a street setup, or just need something to roll on while you save for bigger upgrades, this tire is absolutely worth a serious look. And at the end of the day, that’s exactly what most real-world builds actually need.
