When moving from my bagged and custom painted 2010 VW CC, I knew I had to up the game and have always had a soft spot for the Avants. After finding this 2012 A4 Prestige Avant S-Line with 33k on the clock, currently sitting at 145k. I already had a game plan for this build wasting no time. within the first week I already had ordered the Raceland Air suspension, Airlift 3P management, Viar Air compressor, and 5-gallon seamless air tank. This gave me a good starting point. Over the years I have had many different iterations of the build. Mainly by making my own front lips, side skirt extensions, and rear diffuser addons. Though the exterior got many iterations, from partial wraps with honeycomb liveries, to full on spray on wraps, both in grey and yellow. I finally said lets stop playing around with this build. That’s where I ran across KRNC Forged Wheels out of GA, they offered full custom wheel options. Being an Audi enthusiast, my favorite wheels on the B8 Avant were hands down the RS5 Rotor wheels. I ran with that and had them build me a set of 20x12 ET15 square set up in 2pc configuration. They are paired with 295/25/20 Perelli P-Zero tires. With wheels finally coming together I then had to address the elephant in the room, how will I run 20x12 square on factory body panels. That’s where Ulterior Motives comes in and offered 3.5” wide tall fender flares. Once I got them, I started cutting up the Audi fitting the new wider arches. The first cut was brutal, but once I started and got the first one in place it was smooth sailing. After cutting the fenders making room for the widebody flares, welding and molding it was time to paint. Being a hands-on car enthusiast and already tackling the widebody myself in my driveway figured the paint could also be done. Ordered up a Vevor 23’x15’x9’ blow up paint booth for the job. While I was waiting on the booth to arrive, I made a few custom parts for the hatch, made and molded a rear hatch mid wing. Now the body work is complete time to paint, and what better color than a fellow VAG Group paint than the Porsche Signal Green in Satin Finish. painting I also made my first full carbon fiber part, the front lip was made from the forged carbon design from the mold I made from previous PVC front lip I made. After the paint was complete, I was given the opportunity that most car enthusiasts dream of. I was offered a spot at SEMA 2025 at the KRNC Forged booth in South Hall. This was a dream come true. In true car fashion, builds are never done.
More to come in the future, do I finally pull the trigger and make it even more unique and make it the S4 Avant we never got in the US or do a 4.0 Swap. If neither of those options pan out my dream is to move into the RS6 Avant.
