I've always wanted a 1-series since BMW launched it back in '08. It was one of the first "fast" cars I rode in while I was in High School, and I instantly fell in love with it. In my hometown of Puerto Rico they were always expensive, no matter how beat up they were (just the way the market is over there with all the import duties, etc), so I could never justify getting one.
After years of being in the euro hatchback game (GTIs, A3s, Mini Coops, Countrymen, etc) and moving to Wisconsin, I really wanted to try something RWD and that reeeeeaally got my gears going. As soon as I sold my last project and was looking for something new, this 135i popped up local to me and I did not hesitate to pull the trigger.
Now, I've built it to suit my own style. BDC widebody, half roll cage, buckets, harnesses, kw v2 suspension, m3 front control arms, and plenty of power + handling upgrades make this my ideal AutoX and Track setup while being able to drive it to other shows, cars and coffees, weekend drives, and the occasional drive to work when I need the pick-me-up.
