The car started as a purple on purple 1.8 SE Touring.
The 1.8 engine gave up after 200k so it was time to purchase an accident damaged m3 to start the build.
A great influence was my friend Carl who had just been diagnosed with lung disease he needed something to focus on while waiting for a double lung transplant.
As things came off the m3 it was cleaned, sand blasted, painted, upgraded and then installed on the touring, we then rebuilt the engine and got it into the car and running, unfortunately Carl passed away a few weeks later. I then didn’t set foot in the workshop for a good 6 months before I decided I need to finish it.
It was every spare minute I had to get it rolling and off to Motts bodywork to have the custom front wings built, custom rear bumper, m3 arches and various other bodywork done along with a full respray in the original Tourmaline violet , I spent as much time as I could at Motts helping and just being involved in that process.
While the bodywork was underway I had DS Trim Shack trim the front m3 seats in purple leather along with the rare factory optional extra child booster seat.
Eventually I got the car and interior together along with the fully restored m3 alloys and now it’s just smiles per miles and remembering Carl
