First off, Buddy Love is a nick name for my St Bernard we lost in January 2025. His name was Buddy. Car is names after him.
This is the Story of what will be my last toy after riding motorcycles for 19 or so years. I picked up my Camaro from a dealership close by after perusing Facebook marketplace. I came across a white ZL1 convertible. That sparked my interest to see what was out there closer to my location. A week or so after that my car came into my life. Now should I have kept looking and not jumped on the first car that I drove... Maybe. Should I have looked for a stock car and stayed away from a heavily modified car.... Probably.
Oh well, it only had a little over 14K miles on her. What could possibly go wrong. Well some fuel issues a couple months after I bought the car I had to replace the high pressure fuel pump. No big deal right, well said pump was a 2nd gen Lingenfelter big bore pump which now costs about three grand. Pump got changed in the spring because I bought this car right before winter (South Dakota).
The car started making some noise so I went to a different shop to diagnose that and it was the pump which I kind of suspected. With the high pressure fuel pumps they have to be set to the right preload and my new pump was not. It basically was bottoming out or topping out and that wore it out after maybe two or three months. So now on to high pressure pump number three or two as far as my bank account is concerned. Lingenfelter just came out with a gen three pump and it was a little cheaper ($2500) this time around.
At this point maybe I should change my build name to "Charge It" but that kind of sounds like it's a tesla or something. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I did sell my most recent motorcycle (2024 Hayabusa) to recoup most of the money I have already spent on the car.
The car is mostly mechanical right now. Stock bottom end and internals. GT31 cam from Lingenfelter. Head work and various parts included in the heads. ARP head studs.
