The Story Behind LowSol
Eleven years ago, I owned a Samba Green Honda Del Sol. I loved that car, but I blew the motor and let it go to waste. I never really forgot about it. I told myself that if I ever got the chance to own another one, I’d treat it the way I should have treated the first.
Then I found this Del Sol on Facebook Marketplace. A guy in Indiana was selling it, and I felt lucky just to have found another Samba Green one. I bought it and had it transported home to me.
At first, I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do with it. I just knew I wanted to do right by it. As I started planning, that turned into a bigger goal: build a one-of-one Del Sol that reflects my own vision.
I designed the livery and chose the decals myself. Every brand on the car means something to the build—it’s either a sponsor or a brand whose parts I’ve installed. I’ll keep upgrading LowSol month by month, turning it into the dream Del Sol and show car I always wanted.
This build means more to me than having a cool car. It’s a second chance to follow through on a promise I made to myself eleven years ago. Thanks for following along. I hope you enjoy the ride.
