1995 Honda Civic del Sol

I've always been a Del Sol guy, my first car was a Milano Red EG2 Del Sol back in 2006. I wrecked that car about 6 months after getting it (oh to be 16 again) and ended up buying a shell, buying the wrecked car back from Insurance, and at 16 years old I put them both in my family's garage and figured out how to swap the b16a3, suspension, brakes, steering rack, interior, everything from the wrecked EG2 into the shell. Doing that spearheaded my love for working on and building Hondas. I had that car until 2015 when it was stolen in Chicago. Fast forward to 2021, I purchased a bone stock '95 EG2 that needed some work. From there it snowballed into a full restoration/build. Just about every nut and bolt on the car has been taken off and restored/modified. I did all the suspension, brakes, turbo, etc first and showed the car in '23 at various shows. In December '23 I decided to have the car painted so it was fully stripped down so the bay could be re-done along with the rest of the car. I ended up restoring everything I could get my hands on, from the windshield wiper arm linkage to the blower motor/hvac stuff.. nothing was left alone. I spent hundreds if not thousands of hours in the garage working on this, and minus the paint and body work, tuning, and minor fab work, everything on this build was done by me. The car was repainted Granada Black Pearl, the bay, door jams, under hood, under trunk, everything. As many new OEM trims/seals/weatherstripping pieces were sourced which was a struggle in itself because just about everything for this car is discontinued. Every single bolt you can see on the engine/transmission was purchased new from Honda. The number of OEM Honda parts baggies I have is quite ridiculous (3 gallon ziplock bags absolutely packed with baggies) In March '25 I debut'd the car at Wekfest Chicago where it took Best Honda (a tremendous honor). Since then I have been enjoying the car on the street and taking it to various shows/cars n coffee/meets etc. The number of friends I have made in the car scene because of this car is truly phenomenal, and I would like to think 16 year old Elliot would look at this car now and be absolutely blown away. I always had the vision for where the build is now, just never had the resources to build it back then. I've acquired just about every part for the car I always wanted back in the mid 2000's such as the Ameripol Glass top, JL Audio stealthbox, Mugen wing and bumper (bumper will be going on this year) So this is the project I call "Delayed Gratification"
