I originally bought my 2014 Honda Jazz because I needed something reliable, cheap on fuel, and affordable to maintain. At the time, it was just meant to be a simple daily car to get me from A to B without stressing about repairs or running costs. I never expected I’d end up getting so attached to it.
Not long after buying it, I stumbled across a Honda Jazz community on Facebook. Seeing everyone’s builds completely changed how I looked at the car. People were posting suspension setups, wheels, little cosmetic touches, and practical upgrades, and it gave me so many ideas. I slowly started copying inspiration from others and learning as I went. What started as “just a cheap reliable car” quickly turned into a hobby.
The more I worked on it, the more I fell in love with the process. Installing mods, researching parts, and seeing the car slowly change into something that reflected me became genuinely enjoyable. It gave me a new appreciation for cars and made me enjoy driving way more than I expected.
The Jazz also became a huge part of my work life. As a glazier, I use it every day to carry my tools and work gear around. It’s surprisingly practical for such a small car, and I’ve managed to fit way more in it than most people would expect. It’s been reliable through early mornings, long work days, and constantly being loaded up with tools.
What makes the Jazz even better is how practical it is outside of work too. Despite looking small, the thing is basically a mini van inside. It helped me move houses and somehow managed to fit bulky stuff like a washing machine, furniture, boxes, and random last-minute things without too much struggle. Every time I thought something wouldn’t fit, the Jazz somehow proved me wrong.
At this point, the car is more than just transport to me. It started as the sensible option, but thanks to the community and the experience of working on it myself, it became something I genuinely enjoy and take pride in.
