I'm from England, and I had a nb mx5 (miata) but being 6'4 and not exactly skinny I just couldn't justify trying to squeeze into it all the time (even with bucket seats and a quick release). I wanted a 4 door and was looking at the Is200 or ls400. The ls400 proved to be too big for my parents driveway so was set on an is200. I then discovered the Sportcross. I was at LZ world tour in Ireland in 2025 and this exact car I now own was on show. I'd never seen the wagon variant in person before, and ever since I was hooked. In march this year I flew to Ireland to get a clean lightly modified silver Is200 Sportcross and drove it from Belfast to Scotland and down to the middle of England. It was a fantastic journey and I fell in love with the car. I had big plans for this car. 3 months later the exact car that I saw at the LZ world tour show, pops up for sale after I'd been talking to the owner here and there about what was done to it. It was not much more than what I paid for the Silver one but had a lot more mods done plus a full custom paint job. So I stuck my current sportcross up for sale, which my partner decided she wanted to sell her MK1 mx5, because she also fell in love with the sportcross. So I then drove 3 hours to go get the new sportcross and have loved it ever since. I've had to do a few maintenance jobs here and there as the car had been sat for a while but she's now better than ever.
After buying the car I took it to an audio shop called Enriched Audio House, who specialises in early 2000s head units and sound systems as well as other wiring needs.
They redid all the aircup wiring as it was a complete rats nest before. They fitted a Sony mdx single din headunit with a flip down screen that hides the control panel. A Kenwood KSC-SW910 sub in the boot as the factory sub had been ripped out at some point.
For the interior I fitted the optional factory armrest, Mooneyes shift knob and shirtstuckedin tobacco mood light.
The exterior consists of a TTE factory kit all around and a GMC autostyling rear Elixir style spoiler.
Wheels are enkei Rpf1 in the front (I hit a pothole and destroyed one of the weds that used to be on the front) and weds farmas dpv11 in the rear.
Car is on HSD Coilovers 20kg in the front 8kg in the rear, white stance parts 50mm aircups all round.
