2004 Mazda RX-8 LS Swap

The story

Bought my 2004 RX-8 as a rolling but complete car minus the engine and transmission with 56k miles on the odometer for $100. Originally I planned to LFX swap but after an L33 LS engine (all aluminum, high compression, 5.3L) fell into my lap for $200, I decided to LS swap it instead. Three years and so very much money later, I had a running, rolling and racing RX-8 with an LS engine, built T-56 transmission, and a Ford 8.8 IRS rear end using the full V8 Roadster swap kit that they have available for these RX-8's. The engine is controlled by a Holley Terminator X Max ECU. The car current sits on a custom set of Feal 442 Coilovers (Thanks Odi!) running 18k front springs and 12k rear springs and 18x11 +40mm Konig Hypergrams wrapped in 285/35R18 Falken RT660+ tires for track and autocross duty. Some other unseen upgrades are a BMW Mk60E5 ABS system running off a Happy Cactus brake controller, a Racing Brakes front big brake kit, a rear big brake kit that I designed and CNC'd myself that used 06-07 WRX rear calipers, and an ePowerSteering electric power steering column kit that powers a depowered NC Miata steering rack. Future plans for the car this winter are to rip the T56 out and replace it with a BMW 8HP70 from a 2015 BMW 550i, replace the C5 Corvette radiator tank with a custom welded coolant tank, and rewire the car so the majority of OEM wiring that isn't used anymore can be removed. I could literally go on for days about this car. There is so much more with this car, if you want any further details I am happy to provide them.
