Tuesday May 14, 2019, I bought my first car (second vehicle, my first vehicle was a truck) a Silver 2006 Mazda Miata. Brought it home, had my mom sit in the driver seat, and asked me there aren't any back seats? I said no, and she said aw, in the saddest way possible. Hearing my mom's response made me feel completely stupid for buying a car for myself when the family needed another car for well the family. I felt stupid, selfish, and a disappointment. When evening was approaching I went into my room feeling guilty pacing in my room and then turned to my computer to look for a family car that I can have fun with and one that help my family. I had a V6, have an inline 4, but now I wanted a v8. I wanted a family car that had a V8, cheap, reliable 5-6 seats, rear wheel drive, easy to work on, availability of parts, and plenty of trunk space. Fast forward the research, I landed on 4 options for cars. Lexus LS400, Lexus SC400, Lexus GS400, and the Ford Crown Victoria. Within a 100 mile radius, there were only 2 SC400's and both didn't work. GS400's were expensive to repair, and LS400's were too old and parts could potentially be expensive. The Ford Crown Victoria was the pick, I was a little hesitant but slowly fell in love with the cars. Found one on Marketplace, test drove it loved it, then next day we chose to buy it. We set a time and date, then owner gave us an address to an apartment complex and never sent us a room number. Got really upset and felt let down. Then I realized that the Grand Marquis is the same car, however they're not as abused as the Police Interceptor Crown Victorias. So I found one, took the deal, and drove it home, and I instantly loved everything about it. And that's my story on how and why I got my car.
