I purchased my STI new in 2019 and have been daily driving it ever since. My goals are to enjoy it for what it is and not try to sink too much money into it. Mostly focusing on wheels, suspension, chassis, and small engine performance mods. When the engine decides it's time to retire (it's a Subaru so it will) I'll most likely put a built engine into it. As each year of ownership pass and the miles upon miles of pavement are traveled , I've come to the realization that a stock STI delivers 95% of what I consider a fun year round street car. The STI is all all-weather, four door sedan that's sporty and I have no illusions of it being anything else. It delivers a fairly analog experience (for a modern car), handles well, has a useable power band (you can ring it out without going to jail), and has an excellent exhaust soundtrack. I can fit luggage, groceries, kids, and lumber and still have fun on the weekend twisty's.
