I picked the car up as a project after graduating from tech college, having wanted an ae86 for a long time I was dying to own one. Well my buddy and I found 2 on Facebook marketplace a hatchback and a coupe, obviously we went to look at the hatch first (2 hours driving) but the owner wasn't willing to budge on price firm 5k but it felt just a little ghetto. Gts but had a sr5 drum rear axle type stuff. (Drove home another 2 hours) Got in contact with the coupe owner (drove 2 more hours) picked up gts coupe non running for 2500 bucks (2 hours back home) had a blown head gasket, fixed it next day with a new gasket. Unfortunately where it got it's project name is because clearly the person who sold us the car was in the middle of fixing it because EVERY BOLT was hand tight. It had these nasty ae92 seats that where held on with 1 bolt (drove that for years anyway) and slowly over time fixed little issues like rebuilding the interior and broken seat brackets. Replacing the exhaust, new t3 front coilovers, replacing broken and collapsed read springs and bent panhard bars, got wheels from Japan, and eventually a very nice limited slip differential. The whole project has been a street able car that I can take drifting or to the track, and only thing I need to do is adjust alignment
