The ACT T1R-F01 is a Transmission Clutch Kit for the 2001 Ford Mustang, built as ACT's Twin Disc HD Race Kit. It uses two 6-pad rigid ceramic race discs, a rigid heat-treated chromoly hub, floater, pressure plate, flywheel, and alignment tool. This is a race-use-only setup with light pedal effort, aggressive engagement, and the mild to moderate gear rattle that comes with a rigid-hub twin-disc arrangement.

• Twin-disc layout: Two friction discs double the available disc surface area compared with a single-disc clutch. That gives this stuff more wear capacity and heat capacity for repeated hard use.
• Race friction: The rigid 6-pad discs use ceramic friction material selected for high-temperature race use. Engagement is aggressive, so it is not aimed at smooth street driving.
• Rigid hub: The lightweight rigid chromoly hub is heat-treated for durability and helps support quicker shifts. The tradeoff is some gear rattle at idle or low speed, which is normal for this type of setup.
• Floater system: ACT's Positive Lift Floater System is designed for even disc disengagement and wear adjustment. It avoids floater rattle and eliminates floater posts that can wear over time.
• Cover and flywheel: The forged aluminum cover uses ACT's integrated nine-post design and a diaphragm spring treated through ACT's four-stage heat-treatment process. The included flywheel is CNC-machined and dynamically balanced.
• Assembly: Each kit is clamp-load tested and dynamically computer balanced for smooth operation at high RPM.

For a Mustang that sees track time, the useful part is the extra friction area and ceramic heat tolerance when a single disc starts giving up capacity. You still get a lighter pedal than many people expect from a race clutch, but the engagement is direct and the rigid hub brings the usual drivetrain noise. No pretending it is a street-friendly organic setup. It is a twin-disc race clutch built for repeated hard shifts and heat.
