One of my favorite things is taking a car that has potential but needs love, and stepping it up into what it can really be. Some people might’ve seen a beater with vacuum leaks, oil leaks, and worn out paint. I see these cars as a chance to let them shine again. This E46 is a prime example.
When I got it, it had the wrong coolant, it had vacuum leaks, it had oil leaks, the intake heat shield was rusted, the valve cover was warped, the interior was cracked/dirty, the front fenders had paint lifting where the stretched tires would rub, the exhaust droned like the Econ teacher in Ferris Bueller. But the maintenance record for most of its life was solid. It just needed some care and attention. After months of bringing it back to where it should’ve been, I’ve caught up all of the maintenance and now even taken it further into better performance. New wheels, tires, coilovers, catless headers, a quality full exhaust, a better intake, a tune, upgraded brakes, improved bushings, strut braces, upgraded sway bars, and upgraded DSSR.
Eventually this M54B30 will take the next step into supercharging for M3 engine performance!
