The Story
I have owned this car for over a decade. I got it back in 2016 from a slimey buy here, pay here lot as an idiot 19 year old. I had just moved to San Diego, from Chicago. My old 8th gen si died at the worst possible time. I was broke, didn’t know anyone, and 2600 miles from home.
Somehow, someway this white fa5 found its way into my life and blessed me immensely . It was a daily driver when I needed it to be,
Race Car when I wanted it to be, or a great weekend cruiser. I even used the car to swoon my wife for the first time 🤣.
I was really inspired by clean EG, EK builds with the shiney shaved bays, where everything was tucked away. I used to obsess over the builds in Hondatuning mag which is an obvious inspiration into my own car.
When COVID happened, I got bored like everyone else and needed something to occupy my time. At that time I hadn’t really seen any other 8th gens with the super clean bays on account of the size/ amount of stuff in them. So anyways I did what any other rational adult would do and stripped the car down to a bare chassis then got to work.
I really wish I would have went with an older chassis sometimes because everything was trial and error for me when there were plenty of resources for other chassis. I was not as smart as I thought, I was not as handy as I thought, and I was not as equipped as I thought. All were painful lessons along the way.
I have tried to move away from this car, I have done a few other personal builds, builds for others, different brands, a couple bikes. And at the end of the day all roads lead back to the long term project.
