I used to own a GR86. Until some lady in an X5 decided texting was more important than my life and car and totaled my car at a redlight. There were no new 86 in MT within a 200 mile radius at that time of looking for a new one. After about a week, I said, "if I cant find one tonight, I guess it's my sign to go back to Mopar." Lo and behold at 3AM I found a MT Series Purple an hour from home. They just came out with this color and I always wanted a purple car. I drove home with it that day. I actually hated this car for the first 10 months of owning it. I wanted my 86 and it was taken from me. I got this BRZ as a result of losing my 86.
I dislike the BRZ bumper and when I got home and saw the purple in natural light, I hated the color. It's the most black/blue purple youll ever see. Although under LED lighting, It's sick!
Now that I have had the car for about 13 months, it has started to grow on me. BC coilovers and almost the whole Whiteline catalog later, it's driving the way I like. My Remark R1 single exit makes me happy, and I have a bunch of visual stuff on and in the works that I am building that makes it personal to me.
Honestly, I did extensive research before I bought my 86 and BRZ. I knew the common issues, the preventive measures, and all the praise the cars get. As a 6'2" man, I do wish I would have thought about practicality a little bit more and got the GR Carolla. However after driving a GRC, I feel like I have more fun on a day to day basis with the BRZ. So I don't regret my decision.
I know this sounds a lot like I'm just bashing my car. Which is wild, considering its only a year old car. I really do enjoy it. There was just a really big emotional rollercoaster before I got here.
