The Story
I purchased the car bone stock in May of 2024 for $500. It remained stock for about 2 months before I decided that I wanted to bring another car to Slammedenuff Gatlinburg (rip). In the span of 3 months I cut apart the car. I decided immediately that I was going to bag it. The ‘82 celicas have a solid rear axle, this makes slamming them more involved. I designed an inboard cantilever suspension to get the results that I wanted. The wide body is made entirely of welded 16ga steel. The spoiler is a chassis mount of my design running a 74” battle aero swan neck deck. The body kit design is heavily influenced from several spaces including kaido racers, group B, and silhouette GT cars. In 2025 I decided to swap a 1UZ-FE from a ‘93 LS400 for more power. The swap was straight forward but needed a lot of custom cooling parts. The car still has full accessories, a/c, heat, power steering ect. I wanted big kid brakes so I retrofitted brembos from a 2018 kia stinger. The paint is rustoleum shot from a $10 harbor freight spray gun. Future plans include a ford 8.8 rear end, standalone ecu, and a 88mm GT40r ball bearing turbo. 600+hp goals. The front bumper was build from scratch. I scaled up a model from a video game, 3D printed it, made a mold, make the bumper, then modified it to fit. Its based of a J bloods AE86. P.S. The wheels are 2 piece with flipped faces so the offset comes out to something like -101 lmao. 7” lips.
