In high school, I always wanted a Scion FRS and subsequently a Toyota 86. Then I was introduced to Initial D, and that really set it for me.
Fast forward to now, I'm finishing up my PhD, and I now have my GR86. Ironically, my first car was a 2021 Mustang GT and I traded it in for my GR86. I used to compete in a local go-kart league and getting behind the wheel of the GR86 reminded me of the fun I had racing go-karts.
For my build, I really want to lean into the JDM side of modifications. Brands like HKS, Tom's, Tomei, Gazoo Racing, and etc. all have piqued my interest in terms of aftermarket support.
My plans are to try to maintain an OEM+ look, but add mods to supplement the driving experience. The HKS catalog really has caught my attention, so I do plan on going down that route (though it is an expensive one lol).
