JEDVRCÄB — 1997 VW Cabrio VR6 MK3
What started as an unfinished project from an old friend turned into one of the most personal builds I’ve ever taken on. The car already had an OBD2 12v VR6 swap and BBS RS wheels, but everything else needed a complete transformation.
The VR6 was fully rebuilt and upgraded with Techtonics 262° cams, ECU tuning, full Techtonics exhaust, Neuspeed intake, Mishimoto cooling, and numerous billet upgrades. The engine bay was refinished in Black Magic Pearl with powder-coated components, stainless hardware, and attention to detail throughout.
The drivetrain features a refreshed 02A 5-speed transmission, Clutch Masters Stage 2 Daily clutch, Autotech lightweight flywheel, Dieselgeek shifter rebuild, and upgraded mounts. The chassis received SoloWerks coilovers, EBC brakes, custom stainless brake lines, polyurethane bushings, and a complete suspension refresh.
Wrapped in Black Magic Pearl, the exterior blends OEM+ and Euro styling with Vento front-end conversion, E-code headlights, smooth Euro bumpers, duckbill spoiler, and custom details that make the car uniquely JEDVRCÄB.
Inside, the focus was period-correct refinement with a MK3.5 dimple dash, Sparco Retro GT seats, custom leather accents, sound deadening, restored climate control system, and a full Concrete Audio sound system powered by DSP processing and multiple amplifiers.
More than just a build, JEDVRCÄB represents decades of Volkswagen passion, combining old-school styling, modern performance, and craftsmanship into a car that reflects my journey from technician to business owner.
