I picked up my truck in Tennessee straight out of a barn! Her name is Diesel Daisy! I was inspired on my build from my boyfriend, he also has a shaved bay mk1 GTI. Told him I wanted to be involved in what he loves to do, so he taught me every step! (and he put me to work!) I learned how to weld and mess around with metal fabrication. Also powder coating, messing with bondo and the paint process. I sanded so much I swear I didn’t have fingerprints at the end! All the custom work was done in our backyard shop and the engine bay and interior took about 1.5 years. (while also working a full time job) I have Future goals of refinishing the body, but enjoying the patina for awhile. Literal blood, sweat and tears went into her and I wouldn’t change a thing! Had such an amazing time building her with my boyfriend! We go to shows together all the time and i couldn’t ask for a better life! Thanks for hearing my story 🩵
