The Story
In 2019, after saving up for 2 years I was able to purchase my ST. Certified Pre-owned from the dealer, My father drove the car home that day since I didnt know how to drive a stick shift. After ripping the clutch for 3 weeks I finally got the hang of it. Fast forward a few months and I started to realize that my motivation and work ethic really started to diminish. I worked so hard to get the car, now that I had it, I really didn't know what to do.
I gave my buddy a call "" hey man, I have some money in the bank and I dont know what to do. I have the car, but im not as happy as I thought I would be"" His reply, "" You're an idiot, start modifying it."" That night I spend the entire dusk until dawn doing research after research, finding every YouTube video I could on the car and what people were running. That next morning I emptied my bank account and waited for the parts to come in the mail like a kid on Christmas morning.
Fast-forward 4 years later and here I am today. Just a kid from Detroit that with the help of his brother and some harbor freight tools, now have a almost fully built 500hp Focus ST that gets raced a handful of times throughout the year. Shows and meets every weekend, and all the smiles and conversations of kids, parents, and enthusiasts like ourselves.
Never could I have thought that something as simple as a car could make such an impact on my life. And to say that I have a group of people that actually care to see how I am, what I am doing, and whats in store for the future. All I can say is thank you.
