My wife and I were at a gas station in my NB1 Miata refueling when an older lady approached us asking if we would be interested in another Miata and that she would let it go for a really good price. After some pictures and being told that it had a newer engine and transmission in it before it was parked underneath this large pole barn. I checked the plate and it was last registered 12 years prior to us looking at it. When I popped the hood, 4 baby possums came running out from their nest above the exhaust manifold. The car's overall state was very poor to say the least. I made an offer for $200 over a text. A month passes by and we finally got a response on our offer. She had accepted it along with our offer of an older camper. I installed my NB1 wheels on the miata enough to get it rolling once more. We loaded it onto a trailer and took it home. I started to process of disassembly, cleaning, more cleaning and then accessing its overall state. After seeing the entire wiring harness damaged, covertible top, carpet, seats, and so on. I knew that it would be alot of work but I can do it. My wife and I sourced a replacement wiring harness, and other parts necessary to make it run once more. After multiple attempts of trying to start the car, it never fired off. Ultimately the car had jumped timing. After a quick trip to the parts store, and new timing parts installed, we were able to finally breath life back into this little car that had been abandoned for years. From here we have installed new headlights with RGBW and really have just been enjoying the car until its next project. This car was bought for my wife to enjoy and learn how to drive a manual to keep the spirit alive. We dont plant to do any real performance related modifications but aim for more visual appeal.
