My intro into cars was as a Subaru guy. Owned my first in 2013 (2005 WRX sedan, partial STI conversion) and purchased my 2nd (2014 WRX hatch)in Guam in 2016. Built it from stock, and enjoyed it for over 3 years until the urge to genuinely pursue my dream car couldn’t be ignored anymore. It was the 2nd time my WRX had been posted for sale on marketplace and I had included in the add I was open to trading for a skyline GTR (plus cash on my end). Of course there was a significant ridicule, but I managed to come across a post for a shop trying to sell a prior customer car as the customer was foreign, VISA expired and due to the tab w the shop, they chose not to take the car with them, rather, let the shop sell it to clear the tab. I reached out, explained my WRX build, the shop owner responded, we facetimed, did a walk-around of both cars and agreed to make a deal. The GTR was loaded on a trailer in Dallas TX and I met it in Salt Lake City UT (I was in Mountain Home ID at the time). After inspection and test drives, I handed the keys to my WRX over and received the keys to my 1991 R32 GTR. Cosmetically rough, mechanically sound, I drove it back home (over 4hrs) with 0 issues. That was back in May of 2020.
