2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack S

Sadly wagens are out of favor in the states which only leaves new examples out of my price range. When I got my wagen I only knew I dug it. Having come from a gen 1 Subi Forrester I needed function (hauling stuff) and a better all around ride (the Subi was a dog). I'm a long time VW fanboy so the Alltrack fit my needs. It didn't take long to figure out these wagens are pretty damn tuneable. Due to the warranty (which my wife insisted I not compromise) I didn't get too crazy with the mods, little things here and there that wouldn't void the warranty. And then as I got close to the end of warranty I went Unitronic stg 1. It was only an 80 hp gain, but damn the wagen felt alive finally, like how it should have come from the factory. Once I crossed the 60k mark all bets were off and I went stg 2+ (is38). The HPA is38+ has been a good turbo but the wastegate actuator failed fairly quick. It was replaced under warranty but when the 2nd one failed they didn't stand by it and I switched to a Unitronic wga. Knock on wood, it's been ok so far. At just over 90k the DSG failed. The 9 grand it took to replace it went beyond what I had planned for fun stuff so full stg 3 is on hold but hopefully not too far in the future. I absolutely LOVE my wagen and wish I had the money to have bought a couple of spares. While mine isn't the fastest of Alltracks (Uni claims 352 bhp), it's fairly quick and has left many a car baffled as to what just happened (Mustangs, scat packs, etc). If you want to see a fast Alltrack look for the white one in BC (Tunezilla modded). He's doing 11 sec 1/4 with 3 sec 0-60. He's proven these underrated wagens can shit n' get with just the stock 1.8 ea888
