2017 Volkswagen GTI S

After my wife's 13 Jetta was totalled she needed something new. Found this lovely GTI with only 16k well cared for miles on the clock. It was outside of the timeframe for warranty so unlike my Alltrack the mods started immediately. First was new wheels and tires (the original tires where toast and she didn't like the oem rims). Shortly after we went IE stg 1 and did some other small mods. Didn't take long before we went stg 2 w/ supporting mods. With just over 50k miles I was coming home from work, went to pass, and a huge cloud of smoke trailed me. Catastrophic turbo failure. Apparently we had one of the early is20s that was problematic. Since it needed a new turbo we upgraded to an IHI is38. Fo sho not the fastest GTI on the block but damn is she quick now (IE claims 394bhp). Sadly the DSG blew up a couple months ago so, like happened with my Alltrack, that took away any possible "fun" money to spend. APR coilovers are next on the list as soon as funding is there (anyone want to sponsor me?). Definetly need to upgrade the HPFP (and maybe go flex tune). At this point it's FBO so in the meantime she's got a brand new DSG and is the perfect daily for myself and my wife. She's not thrilled about every mod I've done and I've been prevented from making some I'd really like to do, but it is what it is. It's a blast to drive and, as I feel about my wagen, I wish I had the money and space to buy another couple MK7 GTIs to stash away for later.
